Grade 5
In grade 5 we ejoy supplimenting the NYS curriculm with lots of hands on activites. In religion we focus on the liturgical seasons and Sacraments. We write our own prayers paryer services and plan liturgies for the school. We learn how to incorporate the teachings of Jesus into ouor daily lives.
In Math we cover mulltiplication,division addition and subtraction of whole numbers as well as decimals. We srend a great deal of time learning all about fractions. Wealso learn about graphing, probability, statistics algebra and geometry.
In science we develop many of the concepts that were introduced in grade 4. We study living things, genetics , earth Science, outerspace, weather and plants to name a few.
In Social studiews we focus on learning about American history and map skills we endevour to learn about how our government works and how the History of our nation affects us today.. We also discuss alot of current events.
In reading language arts- We reade alot of novels, delve into grammar and differ3ent genres of literature. We do a great deal of wring for work and for pleasure. We enjoy aharing our writing with others.
